RutOS 7.18 firmware update highlights
2025 m. spalio 22 d.
Innovation continues with every new release of RutOS, and version 7.18 is no exception. This update introduces new features to make your IoT solutions even more powerful, adaptable, and efficient. Built around your feedback and the evolving demands of modern networks, RutOS 7.18 refines performance at every level, ensuring smarter operations, stronger connectivity, and seamless interoperability across your network infrastructure.

Introducing the Starlink WebUI page

The latest RutOS firmware update introduces the dedicated Starlink WebUI page, enabling users to monitor and manage Starlink satellite connections directly within the interface.
Available under Status → Starlink, this feature displays essential connection details and provides control options, offering a straightforward way to oversee Starlink satellite-based connectivity.
Designed to simplify operations for remote or mobile environments, it ensures smoother management of Starlink deployments without the need for external tools. The feature is available across all compatible devices, excluding small-flash models, access points, and gateways.

In light of recent Starlink outages, Teltonika offers Starlink failover that helps maintain connectivity during service interruptions. By combining Starlink with a Teltonika router and a cellular connection, users can keep networks and services online even when satellite access is temporarily unavailable. It provides a cost-effective and practical safeguard for those relying on Starlink internet in critical or remote applications.
What else is new?
Added Time & Delay Options
We’re adding new time and delay parameters to the change_state action, enabling support for delayed and temporary I/O state changes. The improvement gives users more control over when and for how long input or output states are modified.
Geofencing Functionality in Event Juggler
This firmware update introduces a new GPS Enter/Exit operator to the Event Juggler, allowing events to be triggered when a device enters or exits a defined geofence area. It enhances automation possibilities and enables more precise, location-based event control – an important step forward for users deploying IoT solutions in transport, logistics, or remote monitoring applications.
Improved DLMS Meter Reading Performance
The RutOS 7.18 enhances DLMS smart meter reading efficiency by reusing existing connections instead of reopening them for each query. This optimisation significantly increases data retrieval speed and reduces communication overhead, resulting in faster and more reliable performance, especially valuable for energy and utilities IoT solutions operating across large or complex infrastructures.
Updated Protocol Converter
From now on, our protocol converter feature allows the Modbus server, DNP3 outstation, and SNMP to use data from a DNP3 client as a source. This improvement enhances data exchange between industrial protocols and increases interoperability across energy, utilities, and automation systems. It simplifies integration between devices and monitoring platforms, improving flexibility and reliability in complex network environments.
MQTT Modbus Broadcast Messages Support
In this firmware update, we’re introducing broadcast message support for the MQTT Modbus gateway and Modbus server, enabling simultaneous communication with multiple Modbus devices. This improvement enhances data transmission efficiency and streamlines configuration in larger or more complex deployments.
Updated API Upload Boundary Format
To ensure seamless integration with third-party platforms and external development environments, we’re updating the API file upload boundary format to fully comply with RFC 2388. This improvement guarantees consistent API behaviour across all major programming languages and frameworks, making automation and integration tasks simpler and more reliable.
IPsec IPv6 Support in WebUI & API
RutOS 7.18 adds IPv6 compatibility to IPsec configuration in both the WebUI and API, expanding flexibility for users working in modern network environments. The update simplifies IPsec setup across dual-stack and IPv6-only infrastructures, ensuring smoother management and future-ready performance.
Increased Precision: UX–UI Updates
More Information in the Mobile Status Page
This firmware update improves the Mobile Status page, giving users a clearer and more detailed view of mobile connectivity. It displays the primary band when carrier aggregation is active and includes connection uptime, MTU, and APN values. These additions provide a more complete understanding of mobile interface performance, simplifying troubleshooting and optimisation in diverse network environments.

CSV Export for Mobile Usage & Mobile Signal Pages
CSV export functionality has been added to the Mobile Usage and Mobile Signal pages, making monitoring and analysis more convenient. Administrators can now extract raw data for further examination, record-keeping, or performance analytics – a practical addition for managing large deployments or assessing long-term performance trends.

Historical Data in the Mobile Signal Page
The Mobile Signal page now retains one hour of historical signal-strength data, giving users better visibility into short-term connectivity changes. This firmware update improves the ability to identify temporary drops and optimise performance in dynamic signal environments.

Additional Information in the SIM Switch Page
The SIM Switch page now provides extended logging for each SIM transition, improving visibility in redundant connectivity setups. Users can review when and why a switch occurred, which SIM was selected, and how long each condition remained active. These additions make analysing automatic SIM switching easier and help maintain consistent uptime and reliability.

Built for Progress
RutOS 7.18 firmware update represents another step forward in Teltonika’s ongoing commitment to continuous improvement. Each update is designed to make your IoT solutions more resilient, transparent, and easy to manage – increasing performance each time.
