3D Print a Free Teltonika Calyx Raspberry Pi HAT+ Case

2026年3月30日

If you've been running Calyx on your Raspberry Pi setup, you already know what it brings to the table. Embedded cellular connectivity in a compact HAT+ form factor, purpose-built for developers who need reliable IoT connectivity without the overhead of a full router. What Calyx hasn't had, until now, is a proper Teltonika Calyx Raspberry Pi HAT+ Case.

Teltonika has released a free, downloadable 3D print model so you can give your Calyx build the physical protection it deserves. The files and the specs are available directly on the Calyx product page, in the Downloads section.

WHAT IS CALYX AND WHY DOES THE CASING MATTER?

Calyx is Teltonika's embedded cellular Raspberry Pi HAT+, designed for developers who want to integrate cellular connectivity directly into their Pi-based projects. Available in 5G, 5G RedCap, and 4G variants, it sits neatly on top of the Raspberry Pi board, handling mobile data communication while keeping your build compact and self-contained.

Bare boards can be vulnerable to physical damage – bent GPIO pins or knocked connectors during handling are easy accidents with real consequences. The case reinforces your build against these risks, keeping the internals protected. Whether your Calyx lives on a workbench or out in the field, an exposed PCB can be one accident away from an expensive problem. Until now, sourcing a fitting 3D print Raspberry Pi case was entirely on you.

HOW THE 3D PRINT MODEL WORKS

The model is available as a downloadable file directly from the Calyx product page. It's designed to fit the Calyx HAT+ mounted on a Raspberry Pi, with cutouts and clearances sized to the actual board dimensions, so it’s ready to go once printed.

From a printing standpoint, the design is made to be accessible. It doesn't require a high-end printer or exotic materials to produce a functional result – standard FDM printing with PLA is sufficient for most indoor deployments.

The assembly process is straightforward: print, fit, done. No special fasteners or extra hardware needed, just the tools you already have.

FREE, OPEN, AND YOURS TO CUSTOMISE

We wanted our community to be able to have open access to our resources, rather than locking Calyx users into single accessory option, so the model is completely free of charge and available to everyone.

If the base design doesn't perfectly suit your specific build – whether you're stacking additional HATs, mounting the assembly in a larger enclosure, or adapting it for a non-standard deployment – the STEP file is yours to work with on CAD type programmes.

A note on materials: the right filament choice depends on your deployment. Standard PLA softens around 60°C and becomes easily deformable at 70°C, so if your device runs hot, it may not be the best fit. Also worth noting – most standard PLA only meets the UL94 HB flammability rating. If your use case requires better fire resistance, look for specialty PLA blends that reach UL94 V0.

GET THE FILES AND START PRINTING

The 3D print model, along with full instructions and documentation, is available on the Calyx product page. If you're already running Calyx on your Raspberry Pi, this is the most straightforward upgrade you can make to protect your build – and it costs nothing but filament and print time.

Head to the Calyx product page and find the prints under the “Downloads” section to download the model and get started. And if you have questions about Calyx or need help choosing the right Teltonika embedded system for your project, get in touch – our team is happy to help.

If you try it out, or modified the project in any way, we would love to hear what you think and how it went. Any feedback welcome, just fill out the form!
