  • How to customize RMS to get the most of your IoT solution

How to customize RMS to get the most of your IoT solution Wednesday, 13 October 2021 at 8:00:00 UTC Register Join this live webinar to learn how to leverage Teltonika Networks Remote Management System (RMS) in your unique IoT solutions. We will present different customization options on a standard RMS account and include the following: Dashboard customization options Advanced RMS applications Custom account management As usual, a Q&A session will follow at the end. Register to reserve your seat! SPEAKERS Tomas Mikolaitis Product Development Coordinator Questions & Answers How do you add third party devices and monitor them, for instance a PLC or robot ? You cannot add a third party device to the RMS platform itself. However, via various RMS functions you can control third party devices that are connected to Teltonika devices. Can I get this alarm on email or SMS from RMS? Most RMS alerts are sent via email. Only a couple of alerts can be sent via SMS that are sent from the device itself. Where do I see the remaining API calls? There is no live API requests count on the website, but you can use HTTP META headers like X-RateLimit-Limit, X-RateLimit-Remaining, X-RateLimit-Reset to control and view the situation What is the RMS data traffic and bandwith needs on a monthly basis? RMS data usage depends on which data you wish to send to RMS and how often, since that part is customizable. By default, if nothing is changed, the usage is approximately ~3.50 MB download, ~8.50 MB upload per device per month. Can I install software such as Node-RED or AWS Greengrass on the Teltonika's device such as the RUTX11? These packages are supported, but have some hardware limitations. Is it possible to know which devices have alerts created? You can only select single registered device to check its existent alerts, creation of those though can be done to multiple registered devices I wanted to know, is it possible to install RMS as software on a virtual machine in our Cloud? And if so would there still be the question of Credits to monitor the Routers every month? Yes, there is a possibility for that, but for more information you should contact your sales manager. How many levels can you have in the hierarchy ? RMS has three level hierarchy (Tier1 -> Tier2 -> Tier3) Is it possible to create a user who is able to use only VPN Hub? This can be done by assigning a specific role for the user. To create a new role go to Users -> Roles -> Create new role. There you will be able to give only RMS VPN permissions. Also, check webinar video from 34 minute, there was shown how this role can be created and assigned. • Introducing The New TSW100 Switch

We will present the first switch of Teltonika Networks - TSW100. You will get to know in detail the key points about the new device including main technical specifications, use cases. Introducing The New TSW100 Switch Tuesday, 9 June 2020 at 5:00:00 UTC Register We will present the first switch of Teltonika Networks - TSW100. You will get to know in detail the key points about the new device including main technical specifications, use cases. SPEAKERS Tadas Litinskas Questions & Answers Can you plug into din rail with the RJ45 connectors on the front panel occupying min space on the rail? You can mount the TSW on the side, meaning it takes minimal space on the DIN rail and Ethernet ports are facing upwards or downwards. What type of accessories will you offer to support the new switch device? Like POE adaptor? To begin with we will offer all compatible mounting accessories, power supply options will include the standard one with 60 W power budget, then another one with 120 W power budget and a DIN rail power supply comptible with TSW. Regarding additional accessories like you mentioned, we are working towards this direction and will share the news as soon as they come. Can be used 5 Port as POE? No, it cannot. Are there any PoE routers in the roadmap? We are closely monitoring the demand for these devices, but it is too soon to tell about our plans - publicly. How you configure the switch? Can you limit the bandwidth on each port? As it is unmanged switch, you can't configure anything. All the configuration has to be made with router. Does it support switching of VLAN tagged packets? All of this depends on your network topology, since TSW is unmanaged it only switches what you supply to it, what you have configured on your managed switch or a router. Will you have a 4 port managed equipment? Managed in RMS? Hi, if you need a managed switch or ethernet router - our RUTX08 is a great option - it is compatible with RMS, but is highly competitive as it doesn't have any wireless interfaces. Does your router seupport Cisco's EIGRP or other proprietary protocols? Some do, not EIGRP specifically, but we are always working to increase our product functionality and usability wth time. For example, you can access Cisco ISR from our RUT955+ RMS for remote management and console access, described in the Use Case - Out of Band Management for Cisco ISR Also, we have implemented DMVPN, we have numerous networking protocols supported, I suggest you take a look at our RUT955 or RUTX11 to get the idea. Can we connect any other sensor with this switch beside the security products? You can connect any equipment compatible with ethernet interface and you can provide power to it via Ethernet if the receiving device is compatible to receive both data and power over Ethernet. Is it possible to power the device with another via PoE? If you mean powering the TSW with anothr PoE device - not quite. Realistically - the TSW needs around 9 W to work so if you want at least 60 W power budget, you need to supply TSW with 70 W of power so it needs a serious power supply. Is there a way we can monitor switch performance? No, TSW100 is unmanaged switch, it does not have OS, to which it can be connected and monitored. In the standard package, if the total power budgert is 60W, does this mean we get 2 PoE ports? It means, that for example, you connect 4 cameras, which each uses 10W of power, so in total, you would need 40W of power, so 4 ports will be providing PoE. Is there bluetooth and can I use external sensors as a temperature sensor? TSW100 switch doesn't have BLE capabilities. Only our routers - RUTX10 , RUTX11 and RUTX12 have such funcionality. • Choose the Right LTE Technology for Your IoT Use Case

Are you curious to understand the differences between LTE mobile categories and features? We invite you to learn how to navigate among LTE categories and mobile features in order to choose the right 4G cellular device for your application or IoT solution. Choose the Right LTE Technology for Your IoT Use Case Thursday, 30 June 2022 at 8:00:00 UTC Register Are you curious to understand the differences between LTE mobile categories and features? We invite you to learn how to navigate among LTE categories and mobile features in order to choose the right 4G cellular device for your application or IoT solution. SPEAKERS Tomas Mikolaitis Product Development Coordinator Evelina Sinkevičiūtė Operational Marketing Projects Executive Marius Navickas Head of Operational Marketing Division Questions & Answers Will the PowerPoint presentation used in the webinar be available for download? The presentation will not be available for download, but the webinar recording itself is always uploaded to our YouTube channel . Latency is crucial for panic buttons. What’s the latency on TRB255? TRB255 combines two LTE categories (CAT-M1 and NB & IoT). CAT-M1 latency is about 10-15ms, while NB & IoT latency is about 1.6-10s. For a panic alert button, CAT-M1 would the more reliable choice. What is MIMO? Do 2x2 MIMO and 4x4 MIMO really improve connectivity speed? MIMO is an acronym for Multiple-Input Multiple-Output. This is a wireless technology that uses multiple transmitters and receivers (which equate additional streams for the signal to go through) to transfer more data at the same time. The more streams you have, the better connectivity you will achieve. Adding MIMO would indeed significantly improve your connectivity speed. Is the TRB245 gateway operating worldwide? Do you have a list of countries and corresponding TRB245 model? Yes, it operates worldwide. Stating every single country in which it operates would expand the product page too much for a convenient user experience, so to find out which model of TRB245 device will best suit a particular country, please contact our sales team here and they will gladly advise you. When would you have devices with CAT>=1 with a CAT-M1/NB-IoT fallback functionality available? They would be objectively better for non-battery-powered industrial use cases. CAT-M1/NB-IoT were designed with the goals of lowering power consumption and extending battery life, unlike other CATs, which focus on optimal performance. This means that such a device would need double modules. As Teltonika Networks does not manufacture modules by itself, we currently don’t have an answer on if and when we will have such a device. Does Teltonika Networks recommend choosing the right LTE Cat technology for a given solution instead of trying to improve its performance with high-gain antennas? What should clients do if optimal connectivity or speed cannot be achieved at a given location? We always recommend choosing the most cost-efficient LTE technology for your solution. In devices using CAT6 and up, you can rely on Carrier Aggregation functionality, which doubles or triples the available speed. This means that in most cases, the LTE category has a more significant impact on your connectivity speed than an antenna, which can get expensive. However, keep in mind that in some locations, your provider may not support higher LTE categories. In such case, only additional antennas can improve connectivity speed. Teltonika Remote Management System - an extensive introduction Wednesday, 1 April 2020 at 13:00:00 UTC Register The Remote Management System by Teltonika Networks is one of the most useful tools when it comes to remote monitoring and management of our gateways, routers and devices connected to them.In this upcoming webinar we want to showcase main RMS functionalities and key advantages that significantly save time and operational costs for hundreds of Teltonika Networks partners who use RMS already. SPEAKERS Marius Navickas Head of Operational Marketing Division Questions & Answers Can we also set some max communication MB per device that we receive an alert when the limit is reached? Through RMS you can currently set an alert to be sent when certain data usage is reached, although you cannot currently set a mobile data limit. This feature will be added in the future once Multi-config functionality is expanded. Can RMS be used for TRM devices? No, RMS cannot be used with TRM devices. Does RMS support another devices apart from Teltonika to manage? Which ports we will have to open on the firewall so that RMS would able to reach the device? To access a non-Teltonika device you will only need to have an accessible web interface port (for most devices it is 80). What others brand can connect to RMS? You can currently only connect Teltonika devices to RMS, though using the RMS access functionality you can remotely reach the WebUI of non-Teltonika devices that are connected to Teltonika devices. What happens when internet connection interrupts when firmware update is in progress? If your connection gets interrupted while the firmware is being uploaded to the device, the upload will continue the next time the device connects to RMS. If it gets interrupted while the firmware is installing, the firmware will get installed without any issue. When will approximately the RMS connect be available? Q3 or Q4. How can you connect your own device to the RMS? Please check How to Add a New Device to RMS video. Configuration, rules about using the backup SIM. Report about the consumption, let say SIM1 has a credit limit for 10GB and SIM2 has a limit or 5 GB. Currently, using the Multi-config functionality, you can set SIM switching rules for both SIM cards. Also using the Alerts system you can set up a warning when a certain data limit is reached. Though at the moment, you cannot set a data limit, but this will be implemented in the future when we expand the Multi-config functionality. It is possible have multiple RMS Accounts managing the same Routers? Yes. One RMS company can have an unlimited amount of users. There are also multiple different roles, which can limit certain features. Do you plan to release a virtual VPN service on top of RMS to access all devices connected to router LAN not only for HTTP/HTTPS traffic? If so, when is it scheduled? This type of functionality will be introduced with RMS Connect, which is planned to release Q3-Q4 2020. How can I access a non Teltonika device via the RMS like showed in the demo? Please check this link . What kind of features will the RMS API contain after the first release? It will contain accessibility to all data collected from devices, as well as all exports available from RMS (backup configuration, event logs, troubleshoot). How much data/megabytes logs generate per day? Also, can offline-logs be uploaded after an outage? How much data is generated and how often, is configurable through RMS, you are able to choose which parameters are sent to RMS. RMS does not gather data from offline devices. Even though RMS doesn't need public IP of Teltonika for registration, but I think if we need port forward for a Teltonika device, internet provider will need to provide sim card's public IP address, right? Devices connect to a public network and only need to have an internet connection to connect to RMS. No public IP is needed. Is there an API to interface RMS with other solutions? RMS API functionality will be introduced in April. How much data does one router take (per month), when it communicates with RMS servers - roughly? By default, without changing how often information gets updated, RMS uses ~3.54 MB down / 8.44 MB up There is the device map. Why don't I see all devices (in my case all of them RUT950), which are online in the device map. I can only see a subset of them - 11 of 14 online. Your carrier GSM towers may have not yet updated your device location. If the devices in question still do not show up on the map, you can individually set each device location. Will there be a Teltonika MQTT protocol description available anytime soon? Contact your sales manager from Teltonika and we will send a protocol description. If a PLC it is connected to a Teltonika router, it is possible to access it? Or it can access only other routers? If the PLC in question has a web interface, you can access it using RMS. You mentioned that there is no need for public IP address. How? Devices connect to a public network and only need to have an internet connection to connect to RMS. Any devices will work with RMS? Only Teltonika routers and gateways can be managed by RMS solution. How do we configure non-Teltonika devices to appear in RMS web interface? At the moment you cannot configure non-Teltonika devices to appear in RMS device list. Is it possible to run the RMS on a separate server? We plan to operate many Teltonika devices with our own APN without access to the Internet. Yes, RMS has a local version which can be run on a separate server. How is the WebUI redirect configured? Is there an automatic detection of the local WebUI? Teltonika device WebUI is detected automatically, while non-Teltonika device web interfaces are found by the given port while setting up the RMS access rules. Can we set RMS access link time limit to 'unlimited'? Yes When using multi-config, and devices are offline, will the selected actions be performed, when devices come back online? If yes, what is the timeout period? At the moment you cannot use multi-config on offline devices, though this will be implemented in the future. Can you set a hard data cap (Eg. 200MB download per day)? In the future, you will be able to use Multi-config to set a mobile data cap for each device. Is there any kind of automatic rollback in case you make a configuration mistake? Example - if you make a change that results in losing a connection between RMS and the device, will the device recognize that and load previous settings after some time? RMS does not currently have this functionality. Devices will keep trying to connect to RMS, though if the device does not have an internet connection, it will not connect to RMS. Is it possible to set a permanent link in RMS to a non-Teltonika device? Yes. For the devices Map, if the RUT does not have GPS or cannot get a location, does the Map locate using Cellular Location Technologies, CELLID, RSSI, Timings etc.? Yes. What will happen if I am updating firmware of 100 devices and suddenly there is no power or no internet for 2-5 units? All offline devices will be updated when they connect again to the server. Firmware update means to configure all devices from the beginning? So, if FW update will reset the devices to default? By default, if you update to a newer firmware version, all settings will remain unchanged, though updating to an older version will reset all settings. Is there an API for RMS, to be able to configure/monitor the devices from external systems? In April we will introduce RMS API functionality. The password manager, is it like password access management? Using the Password management functionality you can change passwords for selected devices to either a single password you type in or individually randomly generated passwords. You can also set password for all your devices using a CSV file. Will the routers be able to get the unique/true MAC address of the device even if MAC address randomization is enabled? Yes How do I buy a license for RMS? More information about license purchaces you can find in RMS where to buy section. Alert on e-mail? Yes, you can get email alerts. SMS/Email alert will come from SIM card of the router or from RMS web? SMS alerts will be sent from the router SIM card, Email alerts will be sent from RMS. Device configuration: can we configure the SSID / Hotspot / LAN / or only 'MOBILE, SIM Management, SMS Limit'? In the future we will be expanding the Multi-config functionality to include your mentioned features, though at the moment you can only configure mobile settings. For how many days license will be valid? Now it is called a credit, but validation will be the same – 30 days. Is it possible to get remote access to the shell of the non Teltonika unit? Not at the moment, though this functionality will be available with RMS Connect. Can reports be automated and sent to a specific e-mail? Yes. Can we download system logs out of Teltonika devices (which work with RMS) by using RMS? Yes. Let’s say I have PLC connected to one of the routers. And PLC is receiving some data from sensors. Can I see that data on RMS? Yes, if the data in question is sent via MQTT. RMS requires credits for managing devices. Can I move credits applied on a device to another? No, once a credit is used it cannot be moved to another device. In other words, one credit is strictly for one device for one month Can RMS check reports/logs for a specified time/day range e.g Monday thru Friday? Yes you can do that with RMS. Any plan to support Teltonika's modems with RMS? We currently do not have this feature planned. Can we collect some user data on RMS? We do not collect user data in RMS. Can you forward any other protocols such as SSH or VNC viewer to access other devices behind the router? In the future will introduce the RMS connect functionality which will let you access SSH, VNC, RDP protocols. Any plan to offer CoAP based protocol as alternative to MQTT? It is planned in the future. Is the out of band management only available on Cisco ISR? It is available for other routers, not just Cisco. Do you have plans for VPN in RMS? VPN functionality will be introduced with RMS Connect. Will you have an option to see GPIO data from RUT955 or TRB141 in the future? You can already see GPIO data in RMS for all supported devices. Can login screen be also “white labeled”? If by “white labeled” you mean re-branded to your company, then yes, you can purchase a re-branded RMS version. So we can request RMS to use our company name as well as our client name, yes? Yes. Can I write for example python script and use RS485 to work with my program, for example query for our device status and send server? You can do that with the RMS sensor functionality which will be introduced in the future. Is the data accessible for different Business Intelligence systems, like Microsoft PowerBI? It is possible to send data from router to Microsoft IoT Hub. If it is possible to access Microsoft IoT Hub data from Microsoft PowerBI, you can access it that way. Are the safety certificates available on your website? You can get a copy of our safety certificates by contacting your Teltonika sales manager. Is the RMS local hardware also running on Azure? Yes. How many devices can we connect to RMS? There is no limit to the amount of devices you can add to RMS. This functionality also affects the product's price, resulting in TSW202 being slightly more expensive due to its PoE+ capability. Is it possible to disable individual ports on TSW212, similar to the PoE+ ports on TSW202? Yes, you can enable or disable individual ports to suit the specific needs of your application on both TSW202 and TSW212. For greater efficiency, you can manage this feature using RMS Multiconfig tool. Is the LLDP protocol meant for recognising neighbouring devices also integrated? Yes, the LLDP protocol is supported on both TSW202 and TSW212 devices. Will the TSW202 switch have redundancy? If you are referring to protocols, both TSW2XX products support Media Redundancy Protocol (MRP), as well as the RSTP and STP protocols. How to configure SNMP on managed switches? We recommend visiting our Wiki page for detailed examples of SNMP configurations: For TSW202, visit: https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/TSW202_SNMP For TSW212, visit: https://wiki.teltonika-networks.com/view/TSW212_SNMP Do managed switches prioritise the transfer of PROFINET or EtherNet/IP packets over TCP? Or are there plans to implement this function? You can configure our managed switches to use Quality of Service (QoS) settings to prioritise PROFINET traffic over the standard TCP/IP traffic. Likewise, switches that manage Ethernet/IP can be configured to have higher priority over traffic to support the requirements of real-time control and communication. Do TSW202/212 switches offer diagnostic and configuration capabilities over EtherNet/IP (Common Industrial Protocol)? TSW202 and TSW212 provide support for both diagnostic and configuration capabilities over EtherNet/IP. For configuration purposes, users can set and manage a range of network parameters. In terms of diagnostics, devices can conduct port diagnostics as well as status and network parameters. If you want more detailed information on the configuration and diagnostics capabilities of the switches, contact us . Have you already used network access control, such as Radius authentication, for devices connected to LAN ports? This feature has successfully passed internal testing and has been integrated into the TSWOS 1.1 firmware release. It provides an additional layer of LAN port security using Radius authentication. We encourage you to test this feature and share your feedback. Is it possible to access the web interface of a third-party device, like a camera, connected to the TSW202 switch using RMS Connect and VNC? Yes, you can access different devices using RMS Connect as long as they support protocols such as HTTP(S), SSH, Telnet, VNC, RDP, and SFTP. If your devices are compatible with any of these protocols, you can directly access them through RMS Connect . For a more detailed description of the configuration, we would require more specific information about your setup. Does the product support MACsec (IEEE 802.1AE)? No, MACsec (IEEE 802.1AE) is currently not supported. Are there any plans to include support for IEC61850? We are always open to considering the integration of new features in response to customer demand. Could you please explain how these new managed switches can be integrated into an enterprise network infrastructure? Managed switches are versatile devices that can be utilised in enterprise sectors to manage IT infrastructure, including data centre and access point infrastructures. They enable you to create separate VLANs to segment network traffic. This segmentation enhances network security and reduces congestion, which is particularly useful for maintaining distinct networks across different departments. It's important to note that these examples only scratch the surface of the capabilities of managed switches, as their adaptability to the specific needs of varying industries makes them a popular choice for many organisations. Presentando El Nuevo Switch TSW100! Serian 120 y 60 Watts no Volts. No, no tiene PoE IN. Solo PoE out en los puertos LAN - Powering Options WEBINAR RECORDINGS Libera el potencial del 5G en Latinoamérica: Descubre el portafolio y los casos de uso de Teltonika Name S. +1 Speakers es Transforming Transportation & Urban Spaces with IoT Name S. +1 Speakers en APAC Exclusive - Introducing the ATRM50 Name S. +1 Speakers en
