By allowing traffic to be hidden or redirected through a proxy server, users can now manage their devices seamlessly in regions where it was previously impossible. Introducing zero touch deployment Zero touch deployment opens up even more possibilities for efficiency and convenience in remote device management. At the core of this update are action tags – a functionality that allows tasks to be quickly and easily assigned to a large number of devices. This innovation is especially valuable if you’re managing extensive fleets, as it significantly simplifies operations and enhances the RMS experience. Previously, minimal functionality meant devices needed to connect to the system to receive instructions. Now, with action tags, tasks can be assigned even before a device is connected to RMS. For instance, imagine an engineer arriving at a remote site, connecting the device, and leaving without needing to configure anything on-site. Thanks to RMS action tags, all tasks and configurations are pre-assigned through the system. Once the device gains Internet access, RMS automatically applies the settings, ensuring it’s ready to operate without additional intervention. This streamlined process saves time, reduces errors, and simplifies deployments, making it ideal for managing your large-fleet IoT solutions efficiently. Try it out today! We’re thrilled with the latest version of RutOS, version 7.11 and hope you and your IoT solutions will find it just as impressive. - CUSTOMER STORY: IoT PRESERVING ANCIENT UNDERWATER TREASURES
The underwater world hides mind-blowing archaeological treasures. However, undersea sites were not open to the public due to security risks. Not only may the valuables be easily damaged but also stolen. But how good is history if it is not accessible to people? More News 1/28/2026 Meet Altos: The Wi-Fi 7 Router Invited to Your Living Room 1/21/2026 Managed vs unmanaged switches: choose the right fit 1/20/2026 Password Security Standards – Best Practices to Protect your Devices CUSTOMER STORY: IoT PRESERVING ANCIENT UNDERWATER TREASURES 1 July 2021 Less than a year ago, we launched the Connected with Teltonika Networks platform to gather success stories and visual materials from our clients. It enabled quick and easy sharing, which was also encouraged by offering a reward of RMS credits . As we started sharing them, we noticed that our audience really liked this type of content. Luckily, it began a continuous cycle: the more solutions we shared on our social media outlets, website, and newsletters, the more creative and original use cases we received. So, today we have another inspiring visual story to share with you, and we would like to start with a word of thanks. SPECIAL THANKS This time we are sending greetings to Greece, where the NOUS project was born in combined efforts of George Papalambrou, Vasilis Mentogiannis, and Kostas Katsioulis. Thanks so much for sharing this solution serving a beautiful mission of preserving ancient shipwrecks by bringing the power of AI to an undersea world. It is especially heartwarming to see how the technology of today helps to retain the history of the past and share it with future generations. So, let's delve into more details on how the IoT can benefit in this area and offer more similar application scenarios, e.g., diving parks, protected marine areas, underwater archeological sites, biodiversity protection, and more. THE PROBLEM Greece is known for its' rich ancient history and valuable historical remains. The underwater world hides mind-blowing archaeological treasures. However, undersea sites were not open to the public due to security risks. Not only may the valuables be easily damaged but also stolen. But how good is history if it is not accessible to people? Thankfully, the creators of NOUS managed to find a solution to this problem by implementing an AI-powered system for monitoring and surveillance of a shipwreck. For the first time in the world, an underwater museum opened up to the visitors. THE SOLUTION We prepared a detailed description of this solution with a topology accessible under our use case section or by clicking the below link. You may also check out the video, where one of the creators of the NOUS system describes its composition and basis of operation. THE IMPACT Following the success of the NOUS project, the underwater museum opened in October 2020. It offers a unique experience for the visitors to witness a shipwreck and its impressive cargo of 4000 wine amphorae from 5th century B.C., which was preserved in superb condition underwater. The site is so spectacular that it was named Acropolis of sea wrecks, or in some sources - the underwater Pantheon. Besides many possible application possibilities mentioned above, this precedent gave a start to a new form of tourism. Since the beginning of NOUS, four additional shipwreck sites are in the plans to becoming undersea museums in the nearest future. This role model will open doors to various similar initiatives opening up the little-known underwater sites with a lot to show and history to tell. From smart public transport systems able to track and match real demand to public service vehicles like police cars, ambulances, and fire trucks – connectivity translates to optimization. This manifests as better use of resources and an overall better experience for both the people working with the vehicles and the end client. But there’s a catch. Automotive IoT solutions often involve many devices in a very limited space. Computers, cameras, sensors, and many others. More devices mean more cables, and since the power output of vehicles isn’t always compatible with every device, adapters also join the hardware pile. And on top of all that, managing connectivity among all of these devices calls for an industrial switch (or several), which means EVEN MORE cables and adapters. What a mess. DETHRONING THE DC ADAPTER That was the catch. That was a mess. But not anymore! To ensure your in-vehicle solution won’t have to deal with a messy bundle of cables and adapters, we designed the TSW101 industrial switch – the perfect companion for any and all automotive connectivity needs. Its power supply voltage range was designed to match your vehicle’s output, enabling your vehicle to power it directly and without additional adapters. On the other end of things, this switch’s PoE+ capabilities allow this device to power your other devices, removing the need for extra adapters for them too. In other words, the TSW101 comes with all the value of managing your connectivity with simplicity and easy scalability, while minimizing the specific type of complexity in-vehicle solutions deal with! SWITCHING TO IN-VEHICLE POWER This unmanaged switch has 5 Gigabit Ethernet ports, four of which support IEEE802.3af and IEEE802.3at PoE+ standards with which it powers the other devices in your solution. It is powered via a 2-pin DC socket and a VDC range of 9-30, hitting the 12V and 24V sweet spots, which are the standard for vehicle power outputs. The TSW101 is a compact (115 x 32 x 95 mm), plug-n-play device with DIN rail and surface mounting, making it user-friendly and easy to install. Like our other connectivity devices, this switch was designed for tough environments and conditions. Vibration resistance, the ability to withstand temperatures from -40°C to 75°C, and our personal favorite – rugged aluminum housing, all boost the reliability of this device. EAGER FOR MORE? As always, we’ve written a couple of use cases to illustrate practical implementations of the TSW101. One involves managing connectivity in fire trucks – and we promise it is significantly more complex than you think. The other involves connectivity in a food truck, which has just as many technological and networking needs, if not more, as any other food-based business. The TSW101 is our new standard for vehicles and all things automotive. If your solutions have a home in the transport sector, no doubt you’ll want to know all there is about it, so we invite you to join the TSW101 webinar on July 28th at 11:00 a.m. (GMT+3). Our Project Manager, Evelina Sinkevičiūtė, will get into the nitty-gritty of this exciting new IoT champion of mobility. See you there! LIKE THIS STORY? Share it with friends! RUTX50 JOINS TRB500 IN ATTAINING RCM CERTIFICATION 13 June 2023 Attaining certificates for Teltonika Networks devices is one of the most significant steps that ensure device expansion to new markets. Prepare for the 5G future of Australia, as RUTX50 is ready to pave this road! ENABLING TOMORROW’S MOBILE NORM From the moment we launched our first 5G devices in the autumn of 2022, we’ve been continuously working on their certification processes around the globe. So we’re very excited to announce that our RUTX50 cellular router has now joined its cousin, the TRB500 gateway, and is now certified by RCM , confirming that both of our 5G networking devices are safe for distribution in the Australian market. What makes both the RUTX50 and TRB500 excel is their strategic development of backward compatibility with 4G LTE (Cat 20) and 3G network technologies. This feature is key when considering the reliability, flexibility, and robustness of network connectivity for a solution with zero tolerance for interruptions or loss of connectivity. Aside from taking care of the past, RUX50 provides an array of other benefits: top-notch network speeds of up to 3.3 Gbps and ultra-low latency, which are irreplaceable for data-heavy applications, just like live-streaming children’s football practices for their parents . NOT JUST ANOTHER CERTIFICATION Much like all things in life, change is inevitable, and 3G mobile technology is soon to be shut down worldwide, including in Australia . This shift aims to provide a larger spectrum for its more advanced counterparts – 4G and 5G. That’s why our excitement is not only from our 5G devices achieving this recognition but also the prospects we can now help our clients with in Australia. Especially when this continent is moving at increasingly high speeds towards 5G technology implementation around living areas, with some ISPs like Telstra planning to reach 95% 5G coverage by 2025. FUTURE-PROOFING IS INEVITABLE While it’s true that 4G isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, it’s crucial to future-proof projects and solutions, especially ones intended to withstand the demands of upcoming decades. Why? Because you don’t really want to make the same mistake people did when they relied too much on 3G-only devices. When demand for greater speeds and increased data traffic became the new norm across all industries, all fleets of 3G networking devices had to be replaced with 4G-compatible ones, which resulted in immense costs and a huge loss of operational efficiency. Additionally, network capacity experiences around 60% of annual growth in traffic, leaving less connectivity space for devices. To avoid the mistake made with 3G devices and connectivity limitations and get all the greatest perks of 4G and 5G technologies, equipping yourself with devices that are future-ready yet still compatible with the past is the way to go. - THE FUTURE OF ELECTRIC TRANSPORTATION
Electric transportation plays a considerable role in reducing the effects of greenhouse gasses. A single passenger vehicle emits approximately 4.6 metric tons of carbon dioxide each year. Now imagine how huge that number gets when we factor in the 1.4 billion vehicles present on Earth. That is why the shift from regular fuel to electricity can make such a huge and lasting impact. The world is mobilizing to lower CO2 emissions and fight pollution. Many technological advancements are based on finding new green technology, be it nuclear fission, solar panels, LED lighting, green city spaces, or electric vehicles. A large part of investments into reducing CO2 goes towards developing new and more efficient electric vehicles and improving their supporting infrastructure. Slowly, we are making change and that change is steadily gaining momentum. According to International Energy Agency, in 2020, consumers spent $120 billion purchasing electric vehicles, which is a 50% increase compared to 2019 statistics. Right now, the world’s roads are populated with 7.2 million electric vehicles such as cars, buses, vans and trucks. Naturally, they need a supporting infrastructure. It was estimated that there are over 7 million EV chargers worldwide. However, about 6.5 million of them are private light-duty home chargers. This creates a disparity between publicly available EV charging stations and vehicles. As the EV adoption rate accelerates globally, Teltonika Networks is happy to take part in helping with these efforts. We have been approached by Elinta Charge, an EV charging station manufacturer in Lithuania, regarding a connectivity solution for their project. EV CHARGING STATION USE CASE At the start of 2021, Elinta charge started working on a new improved design of the EV charging station. It took them only a year to present a fully functioning design and start implementing it all across the country.
