The latest RutOS update introduces new capabilities for industrial IoT connectivity, smarter automation, and more flexible network management. From AWS IoT Greengrass V2 integration to improved security and networking capabilities, RutOS 7.26 delivers features designed to simplify operations and support more demanding IoT deployments.
Run edge applications with AWS IoT Greengrass V2
Industrial IoT applications often require local data processing, especially in remote locations where cloud connectivity may be unreliable. With the addition of AWS IoT Greengrass V2, RutOS 7.26 enables compatible Teltonika routers to run edge applications without relying on continuous cloud access.
The integration supports AWS Lambda components for running edge workloads, alongside local MQTT brokers and Modbus RTU adapters for communicating with industrial equipment. When connectivity is interrupted, offline disk spooling allows data to be stored locally and synchronized with the cloud once the connection is restored.

Together, these capabilities help maintain data availability and support cloud integration for industrial automation, energy management, and remote monitoring applications.
Extend IIoT capabilities with more protocol support
Simplify remote IoT device management with LwM2M
Managing devices across large cellular IoT deployments requires efficient communication, particularly when bandwidth and power consumption are limited. The latest Teltonika firmware update introduces Lightweight Machine-to-Machine (LwM2M) client support. The lightweight protocol enables remote device management and sensor telemetry in resource-constrained IoT environments.
Expand smart metering integration with DLMS
Smart metering and utility applications often require data to be shared across multiple systems. With the addition of DLMS universal gateway support, users can now select DLMS as a data source and map it to multiple servers. The update enables more flexible data distribution between metering equipment and different monitoring or management platforms.

Improve network management and routing flexibility
Automate router actions with Event Juggler
Setting up automated router actions can involve multiple steps, especially when managing location-based events, configuration changes, and connectivity monitoring. Event Juggler now simplifies these processes through three improvements:
GNSS map and coordinate fetching: view locations on a map and retrieve GNSS coordinates directly within Event Juggler, making location-based events easier to configure.
API actions: modify router configurations automatically through predefined API actions, without the need to write Lua scripts for routine tasks.

Ping failure conditions: set ping failures as event triggers, allowing routers to execute predefined actions when a monitored network destination becomes unreachable.
Build more flexible networks with Advanced Mesh
Larger mesh deployments often combine wired and wireless connections, with multiple gateways available across the network. Advanced Mesh supports multiple DHCP servers within the same mesh and wired LAN backbones connecting mesh nodes. Gateway selection based on link quality and throughput makes it easier for administrators to build and manage complex network topologies.
Access more remote diagnostics data with TR-069
Remote management platforms gain access to two additional data models: Device.IP.Diagnostics.IPPing and Device.PPP, compliant with TR-181 Issue 2 Amendment 20.
Expanded TR-069 functionality enables remote IP connectivity diagnostics and access to PPP-related information, giving network administrators more visibility when troubleshooting and maintaining distributed devices.
Gain more control over VPN traffic with IPSet
Not all network traffic needs to pass through a VPN, even when the tunnel serves as the default route. IPSet support for dnsmasq allows IP addresses resolved from specified hostnames to be grouped into sets and used in routing policies.
Administrators can direct traffic to selected destinations outside the VPN tunnel while keeping other connections routed through it, providing more precise control over network traffic.
Filter DHCP traffic in bridged LAN and wireless networks
Managing DHCP traffic in bridged networks can require different rules for wired and wireless connections. The Ebtables filter extension introduces additional filtering capabilities, allowing DHCP traffic to be controlled on LAN ports while maintaining the bridge between LAN and wireless interfaces.
The improvement helps accommodate specific network requirements without separating the existing bridged network.
Support static IP configuration in mobile IP Passthrough mode
With the addition of ARP Proxy functionality to mobile IP Passthrough mode, the Teltonika RUTM50 5G router supports static IP configuration on downstream devices connected via LAN1 when using a private cellular APN.

This enhancement simplifies integration into industrial networks where connected equipment requires predefined IP settings, providing greater flexibility without changing existing device configurations.
Connect devices securely with Tailscale 1.102.4
Secure remote access to devices across different networks can be challenging, especially without public IP addresses. Tailscale enables private mesh VPN connections using WireGuard-based encryption, allowing administrators to access compatible Teltonika routers without complex port forwarding. The update to version 1.102.4 keeps the package current for secure remote access and network management.

Strengthen network security and access control
Streamline VPN setup with updated OpenVPN settings
Secure remote connections start with the right configuration. The latest firmware release updates OpenVPN default settings with stronger, faster encryption and improved network configuration. Users benefit from more secure VPN connections out of the box, with fewer manual adjustments required during initial setup.
Manage legacy device access with MAC Authentication Bypass
Not all industrial devices support 802.1X authentication, making network access management more challenging in environments with mixed equipment. The addition of MAC Authentication Bypass (MAB) to the 802.1X Server allows devices without 802.1X support to authenticate using their MAC addresses.

It provides an alternative authentication method for legacy equipment, sensors, and other devices that cannot use standard 802.1X authentication.
Address Modbus vulnerabilities with Libmodbus patches
Industrial communication security also receives attention in the latest release, with Libmodbus patches addressing three vulnerabilities: CVE-2024-36843, CVE-2024-36844, and CVE-2024-36845. These fixes address identified security issues in the Modbus library, helping reduce potential risks in industrial communication environments.
