  • eSIM Bootstrap available for RUT2- & RUT9-series eSIM routers

Teltonika adds eSIM bootstrap to RUT2- and RUT9-series eSIM routers, enabling instant setup and RMS access from first boot More News 1/28/2026 Meet Altos: The Wi-Fi 7 Router Invited to Your Living Room 1/21/2026 Managed vs unmanaged switches: choose the right fit 1/20/2026 Password Security Standards – Best Practices to Protect your Devices eSIM Bootstrap: Out-of-the-Box Connectivity for Teltonika eSIM Routers 9 October 2025 Some of the Teltonika devices feature eSIM technology , built directly into the device hardware and managed digitally through GSMA Remote SIM Provisioning. Unlike traditional SIM cards, this embedded approach eliminates the need for physical slots or manual handling. Instead, network operator profiles can be downloaded, switched, and updated remotely, making connectivity fully software driven. Starting in October 2025, Teltonika is introducing eSIM Bootstrap profiles to its RUT2- and RUT9- eSIM routers. This enhancement provides reliable connectivity designed for remote-first management from. To activate the eSIM Bootstrap profile instantly, users should access the router through the WebUI, otherwise the connection will establish automatically within an hour. With this feature, Teltonika eSIM routers simplify deployment, minimize downtime, and ensure a seamless start to every installation. The full range of Teltonika eSIM routers will gradually receive the eSIM Bootstrap feature as part of the ongoing rollout! Understanding Teltonika's eSIM Routers Remote management made easy For IoT solutions with devices scattered across factories, vehicles, or outdoor sites, eSIM technology brings major advantages. Network engineers can provision new profiles, push updates, troubleshoot, or restart routers through RMS , Teltonika’s remote management tool, without ever needing to visit the hardware. It reduces maintenance costs, improves uptime, and makes scaling large deployments far more efficient. Reliable connectivity & continuous security The eSIM Bootstrap feature allows you to download the network operator profile without Wi-Fi or a wired internet connection, as long as mobile network coverage is available. In addition to that, the eSIM devices lower the risk of tampering, SIM theft, or unauthorized access, while supporting up to seven profiles simultaneously. These profiles remain encrypted and even if one is deactivated, the device will stay connected without the need for a physical visit to replace the SIM card. How eSIM Bootstrap Works? Each bootstrap profile offers 10 MB of data, enough to download a dedicated eSIM profile from your service provider. On startup, it ensures the router can always reach Teltonika’s Remote Management System (RMS) and the SM-DP server, responsible for delivering and managing eSIM profiles. The bootstrap profile only allows specific traffic such as RMS, DNS , and DHCP , while blocking everything else. Also, if no physical SIM card is detected within the first hour, the router automatically switches to the bootstrap profile to establish connectivity until a network operator profile is downloaded. Once the new profile is active, the system returns to its usual operation. Why Bootstrap Matters? Even with multiple advantages, eSIM devices still face a challenge. On first boot, they need a working connection to download their initial profile or to configure it remotely through RMS . Without this, deployment can stall before the device becomes operational. For industries such as smart cities , utilities, or transportation , where hundreds or thousands of devices must be activated across different regions , bootstrap-enabled eSIM routers make large-scale deployment faster, simpler, and far more reliable. Let's get in touch! Curious how Teltonika’s eSIM routers with bootstrap profile can help in your infrastructure? Reach out by clicking the button below! LIKE THIS STORY? Share it with friends! • WitchOS Version 1.02 is Here for Your Managed Switches

WitchOS 1.02 is here to make network management with Teltonika Networks managed switches even better. Click here to learn more. More News 1/28/2026 Meet Altos: The Wi-Fi 7 Router Invited to Your Living Room 1/21/2026 Managed vs unmanaged switches: choose the right fit 1/20/2026 Password Security Standards – Best Practices to Protect your Devices WitchOS Version 1.02 is Here for Your Managed Switches 2 April 2024 The newest version of WitchOS, version 1.02, is here to make network management with Teltonika Networks managed switches even better. In this article, we go over the key new and improved functionalities you should be aware of. If you’re using Teltonika Networks cellular routers and IoT gateways in your networking solution, chances are you’re familiar with their operating system: RutOS. But if your solutions also include our managed network switches, such as the TSW202 PoE+ switch and the TSW212 , you know that these run on a different operating system: WitchOS. Just as RutOS receives periodic firmware updates , today we’d like to unveil the key additions and improvements that come with the newest update to WitchOS: version 1.02. Let’s go over each of these three categories. New functionality There's no point in burying the lead – let’s start with the exciting stuff. First, WitchOS now includes static IP leases. These allow you to specify only part of any given MAC address so that managed switches and end devices from any given manufacturer will always receive the same IP address. Secondly, WitchOS now supports Privileged Access Management (PAM), allowing you to use Radius and TACACS+ authentication when accessing devices and efficiently manage the users on your server. Beyond Radius and TACACS+ it can be used to easily remove a departing employee and their access to end devices. Thirdly, we’ve also added the functionality to restart PoE+ in any given port via ping reboot. This lets you reboot end devices powered via a switch’s PoE+ port, such as a CCTV camera , in case they stop responding. Improvements While perhaps not as exciting as totally new features, version 1.02 brings a few improvements that will help optimise your workflow with our managed switches. Firstly, additional firmware types have been added to the keeps-settings check. This checks whether settings or configurations should be retained or reset during an update, reboot, or when switching operational modes, and will now be more comprehensive. We’ve also improved the process of mounting events log partition. This makes the event log partition more easily accessible to the system, which in turn will improve troubleshooting and monitoring processes. Lastly, we’ve updated the WebUI of the header, embedding it to the top of the screen for more efficient and convenient use. What should WitchOS 1.03 bring? We hope this latest WitchOS update brings value to your workflow using our managed network switches. The see the full list of changes, you can navigate to our Wiki knowledge base , choose either the TSW202 or TSW212, and select Firmware Downloads . • HOW TO FIX Wi-Fi DEAD SPOTS WITH Wi-Fi MESH TECHNOLOGY

Learn how to fix Wi-Fi dead spots using Wi-Fi mesh technology with Teltonika Networks cellular routers, enhancing signal for optimal connectivity. More News 1/28/2026 Meet Altos: The Wi-Fi 7 Router Invited to Your Living Room 1/21/2026 Managed vs unmanaged switches: choose the right fit 1/20/2026 Password Security Standards – Best Practices to Protect your Devices HOW TO FIX Wi-Fi DEAD SPOTS WITH Wi-Fi MESH TECHNOLOGY 4 July 2023 One of the most common concerns people have when figuring out Wi-Fi coverage in their solutions is dead spots that emerge due to weak or no wireless network signal at all. The name might sound ominous, but fear not, as these connectivity voids are far from fatal. In fact, they can be easily fixed with the right networking equipment and technologies like Wi-Fi mesh. As the name suggests, Wi-Fi dead spots are nothing more than areas where a wireless network signal is absent. These areas prevent you from web browsing or sending and uploading data files to another destination. Although Wi-Fi dead spots are generally associated with smart homes and offices, they’re equally prevalent in industrial applications. There, they present a significant challenge when Wi-Fi is needed for data transmission between machinery. In all their diversity, IoT solutions can deal with unique and nuanced troubles that might cause Wi-Fi dead spots. Interestingly enough, both home and industrial IoT sectors tend to face similar obstacles when it comes to Wi-Fi dead spots. WHAT CAUSES Wi-Fi DEAD SPOTS? Among the common issues causing Wi-Fi dead spots, the conditions surrounding the router are generally the most significant. This includes the router’s location and the presence of physical objects that could interrupt or even completely absorb the Wi-Fi signal. Brick or metal materials are notorious for disrupting Wi-Fi spread. This is unfortunate, as those are widely used as reinforcement in building constructions for walls and structural integrity. This factor strongly affects the strategic placement of a router within a building. A poorly-considered location could result in an almost nonexistent wireless signal, owing to problems with signal distribution and interference of physical objects. Much like individuals, networking devices are all different, with each having limitations on how many devices it can support simultaneously and what type of network performance it can manage effectively. So, if you want to avoid Wi-Fi dead spots , it’s crucial to consider the capacity of your networking device to manage network traffic, handle device congestion, and ensure equal distribution of the network among connected devices. HOW TO OVERCOME Wi-Fi DEAD SPOTS? While we aren’t in the position to offer advice on permanently altering your building’s structure, trust us – there’s absolutely no need to resort to such measures. The technology of Wi-Fi mesh and compatible networking devices can distribute Wi-Fi signals throughout your entire building just as efficiently. In conjunction with networking routers or access points , Wi-Fi mesh technology creates internal communication between network endpoints and enables an even network coverage throughout the entire building. However, this internal communication holds a multitude of additional functionalities behind it. WHY SHOULD I USE Wi-Fi MESH? With devices like the Teltonika Networks RUTX10 industrial router , the Wi-Fi mesh technology allows you to configure Wi-Fi nodes and use backup configuration to apply the same settings across multiple connected devices within the mesh network. This not only ensures uniform settings across different nodes, but also simplifies the overall management process. It also enables you to have greater control over your network’s continuous performance by establishing a network architecture that facilitates alternative traffic rerouting in cases where one or more devices go down. At the same time, Wi-Fi mesh allows devices to automatically select the most optimal channel for each endpoint to operate, minimizing the chances of interference and congestion. HOW TO CONFIGURE Wi-Fi MESH ON TELTONIKA NETWORKS ROUTERS? First and foremost, nearly all Teltonika Networks routers feature Wi-Fi mesh technology, with the exception of RUT300, RUTX08, and RUTX09, which don’t support this technology. Our Wiki Knowledge Base provides a comprehensive example of Wi-Fi mesh configuration . Complete with step-by-step instructions, this guide showcases how you can enable this technology using RutOS , our in-house operating system that powers all our gateways and routers. This example covers a configuration for both mesh gateway, a primary node that acts as a DHCP server and bridge between WAN and LAN networks , responsible for managing and routing traffic between the two networks, and the rest of the routers involved in the mesh, acting as regular nodes. The configuration is then followed with a couple of examples of how you can test whether you did the configuration correctly. First is “ping testing”, where an ICMP echo request is sent from the mesh gateway to a device connected to one of the nodes. The second is the tried-and-trusted stroll around the coverage area with a connected device, checking for consistent and robust Internet signal strength. Wi-Fi MESH IN ACTION If you want to envision how Wi-Fi mesh technology works in practice, we have two great use cases covering smart offices and industrial sectors. The first use case presents how this technology empowers a sustainable office and ensures all network-dependent equipment is supplied with robust and uninterrupted network connectivity. The second use case presents how Wi-Fi mesh technology helps automize industrial and remote warehouses while sustaining each machinery’s flawless performance. LIKE THIS STORY? Share it with friends!
